We can display formulas in worksheet cells instead of the results of formulas by pressing Ctrl+’ or clicking the Show Formulas button on the Formulas tab
So in order to enter a formula we need to do the following steps
- Click the cell where you want to enter the formula.
- Click in the Formula bar.
- Enter the equals sign (=).
- Enter the formula.
- Press Enter or click the Enter button (the check mark).
Speed Techniques for Entering Formulas
-Instead of typing a cell reference, you can click the cell you want to refer to in a formula. It works even for blocks of cells.
Excel gives you the opportunity to use data from different worksheets in a formula. This is called a 3D reference. It is almost like creating a regular formula.
