Project update

Yesterday I sent a draft of the project to our teacher. She was very prompt with her answer and gave us helpful input (Thank you!). The project is already split in sections, pages are numbered and the automated table of content has been generated. The updated version is uploaded on my Google Site

Carla, Patricia and I will be working on the other aspects that need to be changed/filled. Hopefully we will be done by tomorrow evening.

Lab no.9

Today we learned to use the function VLOOKUP. It is very usefully especially if there is a significant amount of work cause it is accomplished automatically. In today's example we had to give grades to a number of students according to some percentages.  I've also discovered that the dollar sign "$" makes the range of cells unchangeable.  You can find my work on my website, in the folder titled lab9 https://sites.google.com/site/einfoproj/uploads?pli=1

Project - update

We started researching for our project a while ago. We found useful information in books such as Encyclopedia of Mobile Computing and Commerce, Encyclopedia of E-commerce, E-government and Mobile Commerce, Encyclopedia of Information Technology. Also there were many interesting internet articles regarding the topic chosen by us.

The project is headed to it's final form, we still have to recheck it and finish with the details. We also started working on the PowerPoint presentation.  I hope everything will go according to plan and we will get a good grade.

Lab no. 8 - November 25th

At this lab we had to do an application (on a given table) posted on the professor's site: processing and analyzing a list of training course.

There were 9 requirements and in order to complete them I used comments text box, Date function, text functions (left, right, concatenate), subtotals, logical function (if), and other.

Lab no. 6 - November 11

Today I have made my Google website... I have uploaded there the files that I worked on in Excel so far...
https://sites.google.com/site/einfoproj/uploads

In our last laboratory we worked with subtotals, min, max, counting.
For the second assignment we had to do the following:

q1: the total sales for each county
q2: the minimum sales value for each type of product
q3: how many records for each type of product that was recorded on that list?
q4: the maximum sales value

Lab no. 5 - November 4th

I should have posted this on Thursday but I got a bit distracted.. so here is what Alexandra and I have worked in Excel.

At the last lab I've learned how to insert comments in Excel, format them and prepare the page for printing. Comments are useful for a bunch of things such as flagging errors, raising questions, making suggestions. By default, Excel displays comments in a yellow box that points to a single cell. You can modify almost everything: the line, the background of the box, the color of the text, etc. This is done by right clicking the comment box and selecting "Format" form the contextual menu.
